About the FRCS Qualification
The FRCS (Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons) in Trauma & Orthopaedics is the definitive specialist surgical qualification in the United Kingdom — the equivalent of board certification in the USA or European specialist registration.
To obtain the FRCS, a surgeon must complete a minimum of 6 years of structured higher surgical training in NHS hospitals, accumulate a comprehensive operative logbook, and pass demanding written, clinical, and oral examinations conducted by the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Dr. Chetan M. Dojode is one of a very small number of surgeons currently practising in Bengaluru who holds the FRCS (Trauma & Orthopaedics) — making him uniquely qualified among orthopaedic specialists in North Bangalore and Karnataka.
Proven Surgical Competence
The FRCS examination independently verifies surgical knowledge, clinical judgement, and decision-making — not just years of experience.
NHS-Standard Training
Training in the NHS means exposure to high-volume, complex cases across every orthopaedic subspecialty — trauma, arthroplasty, sports, spinal, paediatric.
International Recognition
The FRCS is recognised as a consultant-level qualification in the UK, Europe, Middle East, Singapore, Australia, and across the Commonwealth.
GMC Specialist Register
Dr. Chetan M. Dojode is on the GMC Specialist Register — meaning his qualifications and training have been independently verified by the UK's medical regulator.
